Images from our preparation in 1996
We're still looking for a few good images from 1996 to fill this out a bit.

Our local CERT members test our setup instructions
Our Community Emergency Responce Team volunteers have an interest in communications, and many have become Hams, and formed the CART (CERT Amateur Radio Team). For one drill, we had them set up a portable repeater at Lake Elizabeth, in Fremont, to see how long it would take someone without prior experience to set up.

Fremont Fire Station #4 also occassionally doubles as an EOC. We were integrating loaned equipment to build APRS trackers per our specifications.

Images from the 1997 Race
Most of these images were taken with a Kodak DC-40 digital camera. (Some images are missing from the sequence, because they were not in focus, or they were almost duplicates of other images. -UOW-)

Fuzzy Mic-E Pictures
We have a few early pictures of the TAPR Mic-E kits, with the Motorola On-Core GPS receiver option installed. Unfortunately, the flash on the digital camera helped to blur the images. Until we can get some more, better images, these will be a start.

Here are some clearer images, through the STORM photo scanner.

I you have other photos you would like us to post on this site, please send an email message to n6uow@baker2vegas.org. If you can help us fill in callsigns on some of our trainees, we'd like to hear from you as well.

My pages are created on an Apple PowerBook DUO 230, using CLARIS HomePage 2.0 and Adobe PageMill 2.0 for page creation, CLARIS MacDraw Pro for illustrations, and STORM Technologies EasyPhoto for JPEG images. We also used the Kodak Photo Enhancer software, with the DC-40 and DC-50 cameras for the 1997 race images.
