Staffing and Volunteer Info for Team Fremont P.D.

The Fremont Police Department running team finished first in their division, 21st overall, and they're hoping to do better in 1997.

Each of the teams being supported by the Fremont-area hams will be recruiting their own volunteers for their team-specific positions. Due to the number of volunteers needed, we are asking for volunteers to let us know for what position they are volunteering, if they only want to do a single job, or if they are flexible. We hope to have all of our staffing finished by January 1997. If we get too many Follow Van volunteers, and not enough Shuttle Vans volunteers, we will need to ask some of the volunteers to take a different position.

If you want to volunteer to support Team Fremont, please go to the Volunteers page. If you have specific questions, you can email the team's staffing coordinator.

There are a block of rooms reserved at the Fairfield Inn, and another block of rooms at the Circus-Circus Hotel again this year. When you volunteer for a position, Wayland will tell you what the access code is for your desired hotel.

Make sure to make your room plans early, as there are ALWAYS other events during the week before and after B2V which tie up all of the local hotel rooms! Try to share a room with other team members if possible, since this lowers the cost of the trip for everyone who shares.

Positions For Baker to Vegas 1997 for Team Fremont

The following are current estimates based on previous races, so they are probabaly pretty stable. But, these positions may still change if we get new information from the running team leaders. (This is one reason that we always waited to assign jobs until 'the last minute' in the past.)

Team Liaison Wayland Louie, KB6UOK (for his fifth year)
Staffing Coordinator Wayland Louie, KB6UOK
Equipment Coordinator (before event, during event, after event)
Team Room Communicators (Tony Flusche, AB6BR, maybe Don Ferguson, KD6IRE )
Follow Van (1 early shift, 1 late shift)
Shuttle Van (4 early shift, 4 late shift)
